The RWR KST pipe cleaning devices by Bio-Circle are highly specialized systems for the cleaning of cooling ducts in the plastic injection moulding sector. Over time, rust and limescale, but also other contaminations such as microorganisms, tend to build up in plastic injection moulds. The type of contamination depends on the cooling fluid used.
In former days, losses in cooling efficiency accepted until the mould had to be dismantled, which was a complex process, in order to remove the contaminations in a time-consuming procedure before assembling the mould again. This was not only very labour-intensive but could also lead to a production stop or damage/destruction of the mould.
With the RWR KST, this tedious and time-consuming method of maintenance is a thing of the past. The pipe cleaning device is simply connected to the mould by means of a supply- and a return pipe. The system will then pump the cleaning fluid through the mould, thus cleaning it from the inside without any dismantling.
The hoses have a diameter of 1/2”, and the useful volume of the system is approx. 60 L. This means that a variety of injection moulds can be cleaned. The factory-set cleaning temperature is 60°C/140°F, but it can be adjusted between 30°C/86°F and 90°C/194°F.

Special features for the plastic injection moulding sector
The RWR KST customized to the particular requirements in plastic injection moulding: By means of its intermitting pumping, the AODD pump facilitates extremely efficient cleaning of small cooling ducts already at a very low flow rate. This is particularly helpful when it comes to the cleaning of bent cooling ducts.
Digital flow meter
All systems are equipped with a digital flow meter. It measures the flow through the component and is thus suited for establishing whether cleaning has been completed (flow remains constant) or is still running (flow is increasing).
Systems with the “Dual” affix also feature a separate circuit with a centrifugal pump for the exact flow determination. This way, a consistent target flow can be defined for every mould.
Compressed air bypass
After cleaning, an integrated compressed air bypass will blow remaining cleaning fluid out of the mould back into the tank. This way, no cleaner is wasted.
Change of flow direction
In the event that a duct gets completely clogged by dissolved contaminations, a change of flow direction can help flush the dissolved particles out of the mould in the opposite direction. The change of flow direction can be initiated either manually by flipping two ball valves, or automatically. The systems with the automatic function can be identified by the “Automatic” affix. Automatic change of flow direction occurs at defined intervals.
Integrated flushing device for corrosion protection
In order to protect the mould from new corrosion, any remaining cleaning fluid inside the mould should be neutralized. For this, you can either rinse using two separate hoses to flush with corrosion protection, or use the integrated flushing device. On systems with separate hoses, this is done by switching the hoses, on systems with integrated flushing device you just flip a lever.
Systems with the “Dual” affix are always equipped with an integrated flushing device.
